If there's anyone who gives me #flowerfarmgoals time and time again its Erin Benzakein of Floret Farm. Seriously, aren't we all obsessed with her and her insanely beautiful flowers? Erin's gorgeous Instagram has had me craving a cut garden like hers for the longest time. She must have received my (and her 380,000 Insta-fans) telepathic begging as her first book Floret Farm's Cut Flower Garden: Grow, Harvest and Arrange Stunning Seasonal Blooms comes out today.
For Erin the desire to write a book came from her own experience in the field, literally. “I’ve been growing cut flowers for nearly a decade now, and when I was first starting out, it didn’t come naturally to me,” she says. “I did not have a green thumb, but there was nowhere to turn to, so I had to learn everything I know through trial and error. "
I recently purchased a modest farm upstate and my dream project consists of programming a cut garden like Erin's, a kaleidoscope of flowers whose colors pop and dance through the seasons. At first this dream felt overwhelming, confusing, and unattainable- I didn't even know where to begin. But with the help of Erin's book I am inspired to get dirty and make my garden dreams come true. #itsplantporn
